People's Daily: Beijing University of Chemical Science and Engineering Elastic Polymer Science and Engineering Faculty Team Dedicates Decades to Full-Chain Innovation, Pioneering China's Domestic Rubber Breakthroughs

7Month14Prof. Wu Yixian of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Prof. Jiao Ning of Peking University have collaborated to propose a simple, efficient ring-opening amination strategy for cleaving phenolic aromatic rings. This approach programmatically converts phenolic compounds into unique cyclic-opened alkenyl amines, which are then copolymerized with olefins via coordination polymerization to design and synthesize novel polar-functionalized polymeric elastomers. Additionally, Prof. Lin Yiyang of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and collaborators have published new research on a novel strategy for inducing asymmetric division in artificial cells through transient chemical heterogeneity and interfacial energy gradients.

5Month13A team led by Professor Lin Yiyang from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, in collaboration with Researchers Qiao Yan and Wang Shu from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Stephen Mann from the University of Bristol (UK), has proposed a new strategy for inducing asymmetric division in artificial cells. This approach leverages transient chemical heterogeneity and interfacial energy gradients. The findings were published in Nature under the title "Asymmetric splitting in dividing lipid-nucleotide multilamellar droplets."
